Cool Stuff: Scrap Metal Sci-fi Sculptures
The folks over at robot-models.com have some pretty cool stuff. They are professional sculptors who use used car and motorcycle parts as well as bolts, nuts and sheet metal to craft some pretty amazing sci-fi replicas. Most of the largest are over 7 feet tall. My favorites were Optimus Prime and Alien.
They have a huge range of choices, from a 9-foot-tall Mother Alien to a cute little character in various different configurations that measures up at only 10cm tall and only cost $5. If you know me, I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up with one of these smaller scale models for Christmas. Don’t worry it’s not only sci-fi, but sports and cars and even a beautiful chess set. The Optimus Prime replica above was the most expensive item I could find at nearly $5000. I hope you have as much fun exploring their site as I did.
